The newly released Twelve looks to be another of those novel-to-film creations in the same genre as Less Then Zero, Bright Lights Big City, Basketball Diaries and The Beautiful & The Damned. Some of the books are better than the films and vice-versa.

The makers of this film definitely tried to demographically stack the deck by casting Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford and rapper 50 Cent in this, but for my money, I would go out and rent Thirteen. Holly Hunter and Evan Rachel Wood will blow you away. You like disturbing? It's disturbing.
