My pursuit of terror & horror, I prefer to keep negated to walking my dog at night when I am blazed enough to lose my sense of direction in my own neighborhood. And Halloween. For me, the intersection of those two bumps in the night, take me back to this George Romero classic. The segmented story format never had me get too involved so the stakes felt low so this was one of the very few scary movies which doesn't scare me. I'm OK with that. 

Some Halloween advice: Keep your edibles separated from the candy you are giving out. Be sure to smoke out of your pumpkin. You are going to toss it in a few days anyway. And don't bob for apples with a group bigger than three people because that is just fucking disgusting.
