Loving The Plant, Again & Again & Again
You would not be here unless you were a fan of the plant. Yes, I’m talking about cannabis. But what if your plant turned on you and decided to take over the world. I suppose a fair amount of dumb human problems would (thankfully) come to an end.
Little Shop of Horrors was originally a film made by schlock king Roger Corman. A seedling from space that loves the nutritious fulfillment of human blood gets its thorns into impressionable Seymour Krelborn. Seymour works at a failing plant store on Skid Row. But his life starts to change when the space plant starts talking to him. A little human blood for fame & fortune wouldn’t hurt anyone now, would it? The Faustian contract leads Seymour to bleed meals from himself for the plant until he can do it no more. Murder is the next step so he can get the girl while becoming rich and famous.
In the 1960 film, off Broadway NYC play and 1986 Frank Oz version, there was always a sadist dentist within the plot. Both Jack Nicolson and Steve Martin portray the good doctor Orin Scrivello, DDS. A small scene stealing role any actor would enjoy playing, this dentist likes to torture his patients so its clear early on that he will eventually be plant food.
So when you are done consuming your own plants, which of these comedy/horror/musical films do you plant yourself in front of to watch? They are both stony fun and require little to none cerebral heavy lifting. So pick your favorite phytotherapy to ingest and make some leafy decisions, bud. These movies are not too scary so you could get away watching them with kids, but don’t show them this. Help me!!!
