Last Dance of a Grave Robber

This final chapter sees the end to the Indiana Jones story. A series whose primary source material was cobbled together and highly influenced by cliffhanger serial storytelling. We’re talking heroes coolly staring into the face of death and damsels in distress. This is the very stuff Steven Spielberg and George Lucas were weened on as children at the movies. The architecture of the Indy films are an extension of film history, honoring and reinventing as they go.

Indiana Jones is beloved by many. He’s an American and his graverobbing of rare and unusual antiquities has afforded him a respected, reviled reputation as a scholar and archeologist. He’s lived and adventured hard, but Indy’s human. He like us in that he will is forced to abide by the construct of time. Hank Williams said it best, try as we may, we won’t get out of this world alive.

Harrison Ford got to close out his most famous role when Han Solo was offed by his son Ben Solo a.k.a. Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens. And he’s spend time in the vast world of Blade Runner reprising Rick Deckard. Ford has even submitted to his creator Ridley Scott that Deckard was a replicant all along. Now it is Dr. Jones’ turn.
