Cosmopolis: The Don DeLillo Feature
I've read pretty much everything published by Don DeLillo. You could even say that I developed an unhealthy fascination with this very famous novelist, almost like one of the characters in his books. I haven't really been excited about anything since Underworld, but I felt the old tug of obsession unhealthily kicking in when I saw the trailer for
Cosmopolis. I even went through my bookshelves to determine I hadn't given away or sold my first edition copy (I still have it). This is the first feature of a DeLillo novel brought to the big screen. (Game 6 doesn't count; he only wrote the screenplay and the movie sucked). This looks like it might be pretty great with Robert Pattinson in front of the camera and David Cronenberg behind it. Until it is released, I will count the days and perhaps re-read the book.
By the way, Don, I'm still waiting for you to write me back. Why won't you write me back?
Update: This film feels much more like a play. It has some terrific ponderous dialog between characters which is ripped directly from DeLillo's book
