The parallels between the war on liquor and the war on drugs are way too similar to be ignored.

The Volstead Act effectively handed over power to criminals, stripped citizens of theirrights, killed jobs, and was such hypocrisy in itself that is made the United States looks like a country confused about it's very culture. That applied then and still does. I won't go down the long list of pros which the overall decriminalization and legalizing of marijuana nationally could do, but watch this three part documentary and try not to see the economic, political and sociological of those times in these.
