Not to be mistaken with The Girl Next Door, this is a documentary. However, it is far more unreal then it's fictional namesake, but, first, a full disclosure on how I came to discover this film. I've been fascinated with Stacy Valentine for sometime now, but not for the same reasons many others become obsessed with her. In high school, I dated a hot goth girl with the exact same name. She was the spitting image of Winona Ryder’s character in Beetlejuice. Years later, I got curious about where she ended up so I googled her. I didn’t find her, but her namesake Stacy Valentine, the porn star. This wasn't my ex-girlfriend, but I did want to know more about her. And then I found this documentary.

So here's a little known secret of Julianne Moore's character Amber Waves in Boogie Nights. Her cadence & mannerisms are all very carefully crafted from the very real Stacy Valentine. And there is footage in TGND which looks and feels like the real life Boogie Nights and the whole San Franando Valley porn lifestyle.

So putting all the duality of this post aside, watch this slightly sad, but very upfront view of the life and times of a homegrown, all American porn star.
