Waiting for the Sun
Many years ago, this album came into my possession after my uncle died. He was a Doors fan. There are several albums of his in my collection. I do have a Doors adjacent memory, but through the greater cultural spectrum of Pop Culture eating itself so we can get more. Andy Warhol understood it well enough to understand it’s personality. He saw how it liked to stare in the mirror all the time. That time it built a sound chamber with acoustics specifically designed to hear it’s farts clearer. Andy wasn’t surprised.
I was living in Boston and the Oliver Stone film The Doors was to be released. It seem as if their music streamed out of every open window or passing car. There was also my friend’s friend who began acting like Jim Morrison himself which was annoying as fuck. Pretentious outbursts of Blake or an insistence on wanting to know what tribe you were in because he was the reincarnation of an Indian shaman. As I said, annoying as fuck.
